Coach Nick comes from Bucharest, Romania, where he started saber fencing in 1987, at the age of 10. He studied financial and accounting management at the Ecological University of Bucharest, and later graduated from the National Coaching School of Romania – fencing-saber specialization. He has been a coach for children, cadets and juniors in Bucharest for 13 years, including the National cadet and junior female team, the National cadet and junior male team.

As an athlete, he won multiple medals at the Romanian national cups and championships in all categories, and at the Balkan cadet and junior championships. He was a competitor at multiple European Cadet and Junior Championships and World Cadet and Junior Championships. He was a member of the Cadet, Junior and Senior National Team of Romania.

As a coach, he obtained multiple medals at the National Championships and Cups of Romania, in all age categories. Also internationally, he won medals at Balkan, European and World competitions.
