Manhattan Fencing Club’s New Jersey centers in Englewood and Waldwick offer world-class coaching in convenient, accessible locations. The Englewood facility is just minutes from Manhattan, with easy connections via NJ Transit buses, I-95, Route 4, and the George Washington Bridge—perfect for commuters from the city and nearby New Jersey towns of Tenafly, Englewood Cliffs, Alpine, Ridgewood, Cresskill, Closter, Haworth and more. Waldwick, set in northern New Jersey near Route 17, is ideal for families and athletes across Bergen County. Both locations provide a safe, supportive environment where beginners and competitive fencers alike can train under some of the sport’s most experienced coaches.

FENCING PROGRAMS OFFERED AT THIS LOCATION

 Mini Musketeer (Ages 4–6)

 Created especially for young beginners, this program introduces

 fencing through games and activities that build coordination,

 confidence, and fundamental skills in a fun, engaging way.

 Youth (Ages 7–14)

 These entry-level fencing classes in New Jersey help kids develop

 essential techniques, focus, and tactical  awareness while fostering

 confidence, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

 Teens (Ages 14–17)

 Designed for high school athletes, this program sharpens advanced

 techniques, builds competitive readiness, and supports students aiming

 for success in tournaments and college fencing opportunities.

 Adults (Ages 18+)

 Whether you’re trying fencing for the first time or returning to the sport,

 these classes offer engaging training that builds skills, improves fitness,

 and opens pathways to recreational or competitive fencing.

  • Close stop (3 min walk), frequent service via NJ Transit
  • Multiple NJ Transit buses—including the 166, 178, 756, 780, and Rockland Coaches—serve Englewood, with stops within a short walk of the venue.
  • The closest stop to the club is Dean St. South at Honeck St, just a 3-minute walk away
  • Buses run frequently—Route 166 operates early into the night, with the last service stopping nearby around 2:41 AM

1. How do i get to your location?

2. Are there fencing camps in NJ?

Manhattan Fencing Center hosts seasonal fencing camps in NJ for students of all levels. Whether summer, winter, or holiday breaks, these camps combine focused training with fun to help athletes sharpen their skills.

3. What equipment is needed for beginners?

If you’re just starting, you don’t need to bring anything; all beginner equipment is provided during intro classes and early lessons. Once you continue, you’ll need:

  • Mask
  • Jacket
  • Glove
  • Underarm protector (plastron)
  • Chest protector (for females)
  • Fencing pants (knickers) and long socks
  • Fencing shoes or non-marking sneakers
  • Weapon (foil, epee, or saber, depending on your class)
  • Body cord (for electric fencing

All of this gear ensures safety and proper training as you progress in our fencing classes in New York.
