Vassil Etropolski is a world-class sabre fencer and highly accomplished coach with over three decades of experience in the sport. A former World Champion and World Cup holder, Vassil was ranked among the top fencers in the world during his competitive career, including a 4th place finish at the 1980 Olympic Games.

Following his competitive success, Vassil transitioned into coaching, where he has made an equally powerful impact. He has worked with elite athletes at institutions such as the New York Athletic Club and at the collegiate level, developing fencers who have gone on to win NCAA and U.S. national titles.

As the founder and president of the Etropolski Fencing Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, Vassil has played a key role in growing the sport internationally—building youth programs, organizing European Circuit competitions, and collaborating with top coaches worldwide.

Known for his deep technical knowledge, passion for athlete development, and commitment to excellence, Vassil continues to mentor the next generation of fencers, helping them achieve success at the highest levels of the sport.
